John Dietrich
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, FedEx

John Dietrich is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FedEx Corporation, overseeing global financial strategy, corporate development, investor relations, and all major financial functions. He also serves on the company’s eight-member executive committee, responsible for guiding FedEx’s strategic direction.

With more than 30 years in the global aviation and air cargo industries, John brings extensive leadership and operational experience. Before joining FedEx, he served as president and CEO of Atlas Air Worldwide (2020–2023), following more than a decade as COO (2006–2020), where he led all aspects of the company’s worldwide operations.

After joining Atlas Air Worldwide in 1999 as Associate General Counsel, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in 2004. John also worked for United Airlines for 13 years, including seven as a litigation attorney, before joining Atlas. John’s contributions to the industry extend beyond his corporate roles, as he currently serves as chairman of the National Defense Transportation Association, a director on the board of AAR Corporation, and a director of First Horizon Corporation. He is also a former Board Member of Airlines for America (A4A), prior chairman of the National Air Carrier Association and a former member of the board of governors of the International Air Transport Association.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a Doctor of Law, cum laude, from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law.
